15 million working class people in the UK are getting into serious debt in order to engage in the lifestyle of the middle class, according to MoneySupermarket.
The group say that many consumers simply can't afford the lifestyle they aspire to and have to turn towards credit cards, loans and other forms of finance to keep up.
Personal finance expert Susan Hayward commented, "This research will really drive home to people that if they want to get their hands on the luxuries the true middle class are enjoying then they need to save money where they can, and look at better ways of managing their money and not relying on credit cards to get them through".
