Toy theft pushes parents into further debt

Nearly a quarter of UK parents will see their child's toys stolen at some point, causing added debt when having to replace them with new ones.

Research from Halifax Home Insurance found that Bikes are the most commonly stolen items taken from outside the home, accounting for nearly 18% of all stolen toys.

David Rochester, head of underwriting at Halifax Home Insurance, perhaps unsurprisingly commented, "Parents can protect themselves from the financial costs of theft, if not the psychological impact, by investing in comprehensive home insurance cover."
