Teenagers saving to avoid student debt

According to research from Children's Mutual, an increasing number of teenagers are savings towards their higher education in a bid to avoid student debt.

Just under a third of children aged between 11 and 18 are putting money aside to support themselves when the time comes to go away to study at University.

David White from Children's Mutual believes this can only be a positive thing, but points out that on average a three year stint at University can cost in excess of £40,000.
