Debt Free Direct are advising students to work part-time during their courses and full time in their breaks to reduce the amount of debt they accrue during their time at University.
The group say that working not only provides additional income but also reduces the amount of time available to spend money on socialising.
Recent figures from Push found that student debt now exceeds £4,000 for each year of study, adding up to over £12,000 for the average 3 year course.
