Citizens Advice and YouthNet have teamed up to conduct new research and found that over two thirds of students have been encouraged to take on debt they have no chance of repaying.
Half of the young people surveyed have experienced debt problems as a result of being offered store cards, credit cards and finance agreements on products where interest rates are sky high.
The research is being used to help advise students and other young people on the YouthNet website.
