As debt consolidation finance continues to be popular, new figures have shown people in the UK are still borrowing at record rates with many unable to afford the repayments.
Research carried out by the Building Societies Association (BSA) shows that net advances to individuals amounted to £1.84 billion - more than double the amount during the same period the previous year.
