According to research from the AA, young men in the UK pay on average twice as much for their first years car insurance than women do, making debt problems far more likely.
Over the last couple of years, male premiums on car insurance have been increasing, whilst women's have got cheaper with the introduction of female only insurance providers.
However, Simon Douglas from the AA offered all young drivers the same advice, commenting, "Regardless of gender, premiums quickly fall for drivers who remain accident blame-free and don't collect driving offences."
