More people than ever in the UK will need debt help in 2008 as a result of increased borrowing in 2007.
That was the fear of most analysts, which has now been confirmed by the latest Credit Action figures, that show an increase of £122 billion on the amount of debt that British consumers have managed to accrue throughout the year.
The full report also paints a worrying picture for many families struggling with mortgage debt, as 77 houses a day on average were repossessed.
