Hidden away gadgets could reduce debt

The UK hides £2.6 billion of gadgets in its kitchen cupboards which are rarely used and could be sold to reduce debt that consumers have on credit cards and other bills.

Research from Halifax home insurance has found that many small appliances such as toasted sandwich makers and blenders get pushed to the back of cupboards and are never used.

David Rochester from the group commented, "British kitchens are turning into a graveyard of unused gadgets. They have become merely decorative items for millions of wannabe chefs."
