The government are set to spend £3 million on a new campaign to help consumers reduce the amount of car debt they wrack up.
New motorists will benefit as the driving test will now concentrate more on how to remain fuel efficient.
Tips are also being given on radio stations up and down the country, reiterating the need to keep tyres inflated, changing up to higher gears and not braking or accelerating rapidly.
