As the school holidays approach many travel agents and other holiday providers will hike up their prices, meaning its easier than ever to spend beyond your means and get into debt.
However, research from Abbey Credit Cards has found that Spain is the cheapest option with week long stays costing on average £348 per family member. In comparison a similar holiday in the Algarve or Cyprus would cost £553 and £439 respectively.
Head of Abbey Credit Cards Callum Gibson, commented, "There are a number of ways to keep costs down on foreign holidays such as booking in advance, shopping around for the best price on foreign currency or taking a credit card with no additional fees."
