Football clubs debt an increasing worry

Chairman of the FA Lord Triesman, believes that the huge debts that Premiership football clubs carry are threatening to spiral out of control during the global credit crunch.

Triesman estimates English clubs have a total of over £3 billion of debt, which could cause serious problems as the economy continues to struggle.

He commented to BBC Sport, "They're beginning to see the edge of the hurricane - the art is to get out of the path of it."
