Debt Help For Poor

Former cabinet minister David Blunkett is demanding more debt help to the poorest people to help them out of personal debt.

After being forced to resign last year Blunkett has come back with his first proposal, this is targeting the government saying they must do more to help the least well-off and cut the disparity between the poorest and most wealthiest.

Blunkett has also produced a pamphlet which has proposals on tackling poverty, which he argues must be based on rights and responsibilities.

This launch comes as the government prepares to start a 10 year programme to make the general public more aware of personal finance and amid rising concern about the scale of consumer debt in the UK.
