There are some 1.7 million UK homes that have unfinished renovations, 29% of which cite debt and financial problems for the incomplete work.
Research from Halifax home insurance has found that many UK households have incomplete renovations for over a decade which they struggle to find the time and money to complete.
Head of underwriting at Halifax Home Insurance, David Rochester commented, "Budgeting effectively for the financial cost of completing a DIY project and being realistic about the time it will take to complete it can save significant heartache."
