Many of the UK consumers who are struggling with debt problems would consider storing their money under their mattress instead of in a bank according to MGM Advantage.
The group say that a fifth of people in debt would prefer to look after their money themselves with many citing the unstable UK economy as the main reason.
Despite these findings, the majority of people would still prefer to put their money in a savings account where it can accrue interest and reduce their debt problems.
