Despite the latest insolvency figures showing a drop in the number of people applying for personal bankruptcy in the UK, optimism regarding personal finances is still running low.
Many financial experts beleive that these figures hide the fact that 2007 has been a massively difficult year for many consumers, as they struggle with increased mortgage repayments and other forms of debt.
Furthermore, this drop off in insolvencies has been credited to "an unwind following the surge on the back of legislation that made insolvency a softer option" according to many analysts.
