Citizen's Advice have warned that people in the UK experiencing debt problems will now come under serious threat from bailiffs after new legislation was passed by the government.Â
The Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Bill could give bailiffs the right to force entry into peoples’ homes to enforce consumer credit debts such as credit card bills.
A spokesperson for the group warned: "Our evidence over many years shows that bailiffs have an appalling track record of abusing their existing powers against vulnerable people."
