Debt help scotland

If you live north of the border and are in need of debt help, Scotland have measures in place to ensure you can find a way out of the red.

Consumer spending is as huge in Scotland as anywhere else in Britain, meaning debt is also a serious problem. The laws relating to debt and insolvency in Scotland are however, slightly different to those in England for serious debt.

Scotland have what are known as Trust Deeds which are similar to an IVA. You enter into a legal agreement with your lenders, make set repayments over a period of time and when you've done this, the rest of the debt is written off. However, your ability to secure such an agreement will depend on your specific circumstances, so you'll need to get in touch with a Scottish debt management company.

Lesser debts can be serviced exactly the same way in Scotland as anywhere else in the UK. For instance if you have multiple debts that you're struggling to make repayments on, it might well be worth considering a debt consolidation loan.  This way you only have to make one payment at a lower rate meaning you can make great savings.

There are many forms of debt help you can find in Scotland. We've got lots of advice articles as well other useful resources if you need help fixing your financial situation.
